OZARK, AL (WSFA) - A woman was robbed and shoved into her trunk shortly after arriving to work at an Ozark restaurant.

According to Ozark Police, authorities were notified of a robbery in the parking lot of Ann's Restaurant on U.S. Highway 231 at approximately 4:20 a.m.

The victim told police that when she got to work that morning she was approached by a black male armed with a handgun. The man demanded money, which she handed over. She was then forced into her own car trunk before the suspect fled the scene.

The victim was able to free herself from the trunk - she was not injured during the crime.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'4" tall weighing approximately 150 pounds. The man was dressed in all black clothing and he concealed his identity with a dark colored mask.

A search of the area by law enforcement, which included K-9 teams, failed to locate the suspect.
