Ozark bus driver charged with child solicitation | Crime
Ozark, AL (WSFA) - A substitute bus driver employed to transport children for the Ozark City Schools system is now charged with soliciting a child.
Jonathan Lee, 29, of Ozark was taken into custody Thursday by Dale County Sheriff's Deputies after setting up a location where he was to meet the minor.
Lee is alleged to have contacted a 15-year-old male via the social networking site Facebook. The child's parents contacted the sheriff's office to file a complaint.
Investigators took over from that point and started posing as the child in online conversations.
After gathering what they considered to be enough evidence against Lee, authorities convinced the man to meet who he thought would be the child at a local fast food restaurant.
The suspect was under the impression that he and the child were in agreement that they would travel to the beach. Lee and the child were to travel to Panama City, Florida for the evening for sexual purposes.
When he arrived at the meeting location, deputies moved in and arrested Lee.
Additional information regarding Lee's case is not immediately available. WSFA 12 News reporter Hannah Lane is following this story and will have details as they become available.
